Tech-Air MX Off-Road Airbag System (White)
The Tech-Air® MX is a fully autonomous, race-developed airbag system engineered specifically for motocross, enduro, and rally riding. Built from extensive real-world data gathered since 2016 in elite competition—including MXGP, Pro Motocross, and the Dakar Rally—the system delivers advanced upper-body protection for off-road riders in the most demanding environments.
Designed to function as a standalone protective system, Tech-Air MX uses a six-axis sensor suite (triaxial accelerometer and gyroscope) to continuously monitor rider movement at millisecond intervals. In the event of a crash, the system deploys in approximately 40 milliseconds, inflating a full-coverage airbag that protects the chest, shoulders, back, and collarbone areas. After deployment, the airbag deflates within 4–5 seconds, allowing the rider to remount or safely exit the session.
The system integrates CE Level 1 passive chest and back protection (Nucleon Plasma back protector and polyhedron chest protection) with an active airbag layer that provides significantly greater impact absorption than traditional foam armor. The chassis is constructed from breathable mesh and foam-backed materials, ensuring comfort, ventilation, and mobility during intense riding conditions.
Tech-Air MX offers four intelligent riding modes tailored to specific off-road disciplines:
MX Mode – standard motocross track algorithm and default setting
MX Race Mode – desensitized setting for pro-level aggression and higher crash thresholds
Enduro Mode – optimized for lower-to-medium speeds, technical trails, woods riding, and dual-sport use
Rally Mode – high-speed algorithm designed for Dakar-style terrain and fast off-road riding
Operation is fully automated: the system powers on and runs diagnostics when the left side strap is secured. A visual indicator displays system status and battery level, while mode selection can be adjusted via the control panel or Tech-Air App. The system charges via USB-C and provides approximately 30 hours of active riding time per charge. After 15 minutes of inactivity, it enters standby mode and can be reactivated instantly by re-strapping.
The Tech-Air MX is rated for up to six airbag deployments before requiring airbag replacement, offering a balance of high-level protection and serviceability. It is not compatible with neck braces or additional chest/back armor due to its integrated design.
