Quick answer: The Biltwell 395 is a full-face dirt bike helmet, now available at Live The Gnar in Gloss Black, Gloss White, Aggro R/W/B, and Aggro O/W/B. Solid colors are $199.95; Aggro graphics are $224.95.

A long time coming. Ready for dirt.

Some gear has a good story before it ever hits the shelf. In its launch announcement, Biltwell traces the idea for a dirt helmet back to racing the NORRA 1000 in 2018 with visors fitted to Lane Splitters. The 395 is where that idea finally landed.

The name comes from Highway 395, the route connecting California's Mojave Desert with the Sierra and beyond. That feels right for a helmet built around dusty two-wheel adventures: simple lines, bold paint, and the practical details you want to look at before your next ride.

Four finishes. Pick your flavor.

Go clean with Gloss Black or Gloss White, or bring more color with either Aggro graphic. Each listing has its own photos and size selector, so you can head straight to the finish you want.

Sizes run from X-Small through 2X-Large. Prices are in USD and were checked November 3, 2026. Check the product page for current price and size availability.

What makes the 395 worth a look?

The silhouette gets your attention. These are the details to compare when deciding whether it belongs in your gear bag.

  • ABS shell and dual-density EPS. Biltwell pairs an injection-molded outer shell with a dual-density impact liner.
  • Venting where it counts. Forehead and chin-bar openings bring air into the helmet; stainless-steel mesh covers the vents to help keep debris out.
  • A wide opening for goggles. The molded rubber eye-port trim includes raised traction details to help hold a goggle strap in place.
  • An adjustable visor. Two thumb screws secure the molded visor and let you adjust its position.
  • Removable, washable padding. The comfort liner and cheek pads can come out for cleaning after a dusty day.
  • Hand-painted finishes. Choose a solid gloss finish or one of the two Aggro colorways shown above.
Certification: Biltwell lists the 395 as US DOT FMVSS No. 218 compliant. See the official 395 specifications for the manufacturer's details.

Get the fit right first.

Start with the size chart on the product listing and follow Biltwell's fitment instructions. The brand specifically notes that different helmet models can fit the same head differently, so your usual size is a starting point—not a guarantee.

Choose fit before paint. If you're deciding between sizes, reach out to thedudes@livethegnar.com before ordering. For a helmet with an open eye port like the 395, plan your goggles into the setup, too.
