AMA District 37 — The Place to Race. Southern California’s premier off-road racing organization.
If you’re an off-road rider in Southern California and you’re not in the District 37 ecosystem, you’re leaving races on the table. AMA District 37 is one of the most active district racing programs in the country — running events year-round across the deserts, mountains, and trails of SoCal with six distinct race series, championship points all season long, and classes that cover every skill level from first-timers to seasoned Veterans.
Their mission: dedicated to providing members fun, family-oriented events and protecting the rights of motorcyclists to enjoy the sport. They’ve been doing exactly that for over 80 years.

Desert Scrambles
Run over natural desert terrain. One to 50-mile loop, run once or twice depending on class. 10 races total. Best 5 finishes count. Ages 12 and up.
Hare and Hound
Marked course over natural desert. 30 to 50-mile loops, run once or twice. More demanding than Scrambles. National Hare and Hounds are typically at the title wire.
Sprint Enduro
Timed event on a marked course. 3 unique test sections per day, approximately 7 miles each. Race against the clock, not other riders. Tech inspection 7–9am, key time 10am.
Desert Series
Combination of Hare and Hound, Sprint Enduro, and Desert Scramble formats over natural desert terrain. Includes all AMA District 37 races. Best 20 finishes count.
Grand Prix (Big 6)
Closed-course events with both natural and motocross terrain. Loop one tends toward MX, loop two toward natural terrain. Many vendors and pit crews. The championship series.
Youth Series
Designed for riders under 12. 3 to 7-mile loops, between 30 and 40 minutes depending on class. Includes all District 37 races. Best 20 finishes count toward standings.
The barrier to entry is lower than you think. You need an AMA membership and a D37 competition license to race. Both are available online. Most series also offer beginner Novice classes for first-timers — so if you’ve never pinned a number before, there’s a class built for exactly that.
