The Tommy Russell Memorial

The 100s MC Tommy Russell Memorial Hare & Hound took place October 31–November 1, 2026, at Spangler Hills OHV Area, with staging at Wagon Wheel / Charlie’s Place. Youth racing opened the weekend on Saturday, followed by the adult national on Sunday.

The shared weekend matters. National racers and District 37 riders were part of the same event, with the flyer advertising 125% District 37 points for eligible riders. For the club racers, families and crews who keep coming back to the desert, this was a championship weekend close to the roots of the sport.

Roberts takes the race. Oliveira takes the title.

Zane Roberts put Beta on top in the finale. Dante Oliveira finished second and secured a second consecutive AMA National Hare & Hound Pro championship for FMF KTM Factory Racing. KTM’s race report describes a race-long fight after Oliveira led the opening loop.

Cycle News reports a four-second winning margin after nearly two hours of racing. Its race account describes rain-improved dirt, strong wind and navigation errors that helped shape the lead battle. The finish put an exclamation point on the national season without taking anything away from Oliveira’s championship run.

Rachel Stout won the finale ahead of Ava Silvestri and Catalina Springstroh. Silvestri had already secured the Pro Women championship, and the number-one plate and team celebration put a face to that season-long achievement.

Youth racing and the club behind the weekend

Saturday’s program covered peewees through the larger youth classes, and the flyer made room for Halloween with trick-or-treating, pit decorating and a costume contest. The advertised adult course used a 37-mile first loop and a 40-mile second loop, with loop requirements varying by class.

That range is what makes a club weekend worth supporting: young riders getting their start, experienced racers chasing points, and the people behind the scenes making room for both. The national battle gets the headline, but the event belongs to the whole paddock.
